MEET OUR FOUNDER

Bridget Coulton

She was a city girl with a country heart - always chasing the wide open spaces…A love of the bush and horses took her to the rugged top end of Australia where she met her now husband and father of three children…Now settled on a remote cotton, cropping and cattle property in south-western Queensland Bridget aspires to connect the city and the country through celebrating bush culture.

From Melbourne to Goondiwindi

Bridget's History

Despite originally hailing from Melbourne Bridget was lucky to grow up with country influences on both sides of her family.

A golden childhood spent between sheep and cattle family farms in the Barossa and upper Yarra Valley cemented a love of the bush in Bridget from a young age.

Whether it was through riding horses through stunning Victorian bushland, stoking campfires down at the creek, or watching her Gran churn out endless “Rock Buns” on her old Aga Stove – Bridget’s love kept growing.

Further fuelled with many outback family road trips, a month long indigenous exchange in the Kimberley, and later a stint there jillarooing  Bridget‘s life-long passion was set on fire.

Upon finishing school Bridget completed a Bachelor of Communications at RMIT before permanently venturing out into the bush!

Several years later she completed a Diploma of Law by correspondence with NSW's Legal Professional Admission Board whilst working in rural town law firms before eventually practicing as a solicitor.

Now settled very firmly into family life on the farm Bridget is excited about using her unique skillset and passion to bring The Bush Exchange to life.

She loves people, communicating, problem solving and getting her city culture fix every now and again, but most of all, she loves spending time in the bush – whether it be in the cattle yards, on a horse, enjoying local produce or simply having a campfire down on the Weir River.

Stay Connected

With the intention of becoming a lifestyle movement brand we set out to create an all-encompassing Website, Blog and Online Store.

Whilst the last several years has seen Bridget focus primarily on raising her young family on the farm, she has used the time to build her brand vision and heart through sharing inspiration on Instagram whilst building relationships in the online community.

Bridget is excited for future collaborations with Creators, Contributors and Brands that align with our Values and can help us achieve The Bush Exchange's Vision and Mission.

If you'd like to connect with Bridget she'd love to hear from you...
