Abstract landscape painting

Painting the landscape is what Meagan Jacobs is passionate about, whether it’s the coast, the desert or the bush.

Working  ‘en plein air’ allows her the time to research her surrounds through countless drawings and ‘quickie’ paintings.

It is back in the studio where the imagined landscapes take on their ‘other worldly’ (although distinctly Australian) feel and shape.

Meagan lived on the South Coast of NSW for 30 years before making the bold move a couple of years ago to relocate to the Central Desert with her dog.

Living in the heart of Australia inspired many wonderful works rich with the colour of our interior landscape.

Recently Meagan and her dog relocated again to the North West Slopes of NSW and she is now busy settling in to small town life and ‘getting to know’ the amazing surrounding landscape.

She loves representing the energy and feeling that our beautiful country emanates.

Her use of colour, pattern and abstract interpretation wonderfully captivates the spirit of the Australian bush.
